I have various software installed on my system, Norton, Nero, AdAware 1.05SE, Spystopper, Realplayer and these were installed whilst I had Doom3 working on my system previously. Run msconfig see if anything is going on at startup that shouldnt be there. virtual drive saoftware, so dont rule out the problem may lie elsewhere, take your time an firgure it out.

thing is dude just cause a game dont work does not always mean its driver related, it can be memory, hard drive, cdrom, burner drive, even a stupid new utility you got idle in the taskbar like direct cd.

i replaced the cdrom drive with a new plextor an boom game worked, and i never reformatted anything same os install everything. my cdrom drive, i was getting crc errors that i didnt know about untill i tried to burn a cd an got a bad write an i looked into that. like raven shield for some damn reason unknown for weeks wouldnt work after i used a patch, low an behold, guess what it was. What have you changed prior to the game not working, the answer is there man.
